Is coaching like counseling? Coaching is different than counseling. As a coach, I am not a trained therapist or counselor. I do not diagnose or offer professional care or treatment for mental health disorders. In general, counseling tends to look at the past and present, whereas coaching focuses on the present and future. I am wary of personality typing systems because it feels like they put people in a box. Is the Enneagram like that? The unique thing about the Enneagram is that it will open your eyes to the box that you’re already in (your autopilot responses) and will show you how to grow in a healthy direction, “out of the box”. Is the Enneagram coaching you provide from a Christian perspective? I have guide sheets from both a Christian and neutral perspective so you can let me know which you prefer.
